The Institute for competitiveness (I-com) is a no-profit association founded in 2005 by a group of young scholars, professionals and managers. I-com intends to play a part in the public debate about the future of the Italian system in the perspective of competitiveness. Its activities are carried thanks to a multidisciplinary expertise, underpinned by a high-profile scientific board and to a variety of analysis and presentation instruments.
I-com intends to combine analytical precision and full independence from political parties, taking up its own position about specific subjects and making use of presentation instruments comprehensible not only to the experts but also to a well-informed public.
In order to pursue the aims of the association, I-com will organize and promote conferences, seminars, training courses, debates and meetings open to the public or restricted to partners, about the competitiveness of the Italian system in the European and/or international setting;take part in the public debate by means of papers, draft laws and comments; publish a series of books and journals and a series of working papers on the subject of competitiveness open to external contributions; organize events for the professional formation and specialization of all operators in the economic, political and social fields.
